TUESDAY- Epcot!!!

Today was our last day in Disneyworld and of this trip. The day started in the best way ever, in fact we had the opportunity to sleep in and have breakfast in bed.
Today was an amazing day because we had the incredible opportunity to visit Epcot, the park where you can visit 11 different countries without having a passport, as Arielle would say. Here we saw typical thing from countries that are different than ours, and also to see how the Americans see our own country. Some of us even spoke their native language in the restaurants or shops of their country.

But Epcot is not only a place where you can see other nations, is also a place where you can imagine the future learning from our past. We rode rides where we could be part of an expedition on Mars, or ride super fast cars of the future. At the end of the day we were exhausted but happy, especially when Arielle and Alanna gave the prizes for the superlatives. However, when came the time to talk about tomorrow, the spirit wasn’t the same. Tomorrow we’ll leave this place and all the amazing people we met, our fantastic coordinator, monitor and chaperone, and the bus driver that led us everywhere during this trip.

Tonight is a sad night; we have to say “see you later” to the people who will go to the airport very early in the morning. I can’t tell how much this trip changed my idea about United States, it taught me new things and gave me the opportunity to meet boys and girls from places and I hope, one day, I will have the opportunity to visit.
See you later guys, see you later east coast.

MONDAY- Animal Kingdom/Hollywood Studios!!!

Monday we left the hotel and headed for Animal Kingdom in Disney World. We started out with a behind the scenes tour about how things work inside Animal Kingdom. We took a safari tour, which gave us a look on animals that normally live in Africa. Then we got a couple of hours to explore the park on our own. A popular ride that most our group went on, was Expedition Everest.

We got on the bus and went to Disney Hollywood Studios. It was a very hot day but soon the Disney’s spirit got into us and we got to enjoy everything. A group of us went to the Star tour, which was a 3D simulator that took us on the spaceship and explored and escaped. A lot of us went to the Tower of Terror that will drop you from a high old hotel tower. In the evening some of us went to the Fantasmic event, which included fireworks.

We have a really wonderful day even at Animal Kingdom and the Disney Hollywood Studios and we are so ready for the last day of Disney’s world in Epcot!!!!!

We start the day going to the Magic Kingdom, located in Orlando, Florida; subdivided in 6 Lands: Main Street, Adventure Land, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Obtaining the main attractions being the following: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, The Pirates of Caribbean, and Space Mountain. The opportunity to have the Fast Pass, a way to avoid the stand-by lines especially at some attractions that could get close to 2 hours wait, provided the advantage to explore more about the happiest place in the world. The Movies in Magic Kingdom are amazing, with 3D, different kind of seats, sounds and feelings. We consider the best adventures about our day was the Monster Inc laugh floor movie, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain.

Even the Strong rain in the afternoon didn’t stop our group. Magic Kingdom is the place where your dreams come true and even though we’re young adults make us feel like small kids, because of the whole different entertainments and adventures. The electric parade at night at the Castle was the perfect way to initiate the Castle show. In the main Castle show with a show a lights and projectors showing all kind of characters created by Disney, in last but not least the amazing fireworks show that can make any person feel that your dreams can come true.

THURSDAY!!!

Today we left Washington DC and hit the road to go to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. We watched movies on the bus (Mamma Mia and Avatar) and listened to music. Some of us enjoyed the first movie more than the second, because we could sing along to the amazing songs, but my buddy Sofie and I didn’t really want to watch Avatar, so we just slept. It was an 8-hour drive, and we drove through Virginia and North Carolina. We stopped for lunch, and most of us went to Wendy’s. It was pouring rain when we stopped, so we were all soaked when we got on the bus. After a few hours we stopped again at a gas station, and when I stepped inside, I could definitely see that we were no longer in New York or Washington, but we had reached the south. It was really interesting and fascinating to see the differences.

After 8 hours in the bus we finally arrived at Myrtle Beach. It was very hot and humid, so we took a walk down the beach, and some of us were really excited because it was our first time to touch the Atlantic Ocean. We “played” with the ocean and got a little bit wet (some more than others). After that we drove to a restaurant called Golden Corral where we had dinner. It was a buffet so we were all stuffed when we arrived at the hotel, since we ate whatever was in there. Some of us especially enjoyed the desserts like chocolate covered strawberries and cotton candy. When we had situated ourselves in the hotel we had free time. Some people hung out by the pool, some worked out, and others stayed in their rooms and played cards.
